# FAQs

Common questions about setup, integrations, Super Connectors, and warm introductions in Boomerang.

These are the most common questions across the current Boomerang docs.

### Getting started

#### What does Boomerang do?

Boomerang maps relationship signals from your CRM, calendars, and Super Connectors. It helps your team find the best path for a warm introduction.

#### What is the recommended setup order?

Start with login, then connect your CRM, then connect your calendar. After that, add and invite Super Connectors, customise the intro form, and only then add Requesters.

See [Getting Set Up](/super-connector-admin-guide/getting-set-up.md).

#### Who should manage the initial setup?

Use a Super Connector Admin in Boomerang. For integrations, use the highest-permission admin account in each system.

#### How long does setup usually take?

Core setup usually takes under an hour if your CRM and calendar admins are available. Large CRM syncs can still take longer to complete in the background.

### Super Connectors and Requesters

#### Who should be a Super Connector?

Pick people with strong external networks and credibility. Good candidates include executives, founders, senior leaders, board members, and advisors.

#### How many Super Connectors should I start with?

Start with three to five engaged people. A small active group is better than a large inactive one.

#### Can I add Super Connectors in bulk?

Yes. You can upload them with a CSV that includes first name, last name, email address, and LinkedIn profile URL.

See [Add & Invite Super Connectors](/super-connector-admin-guide/add-and-invite-super-connectors.md).

#### How do Super Connectors sign in?

They sign in through a unique Magic Link. You can send that link by email, Slack, text, WhatsApp, or any other channel.

#### Will Super Connectors expose their full network to everyone?

No. Boomerang surfaces relevant paths tied to an active request. It does not turn a Super Connector's entire network into a public directory.

#### When should I invite Requesters?

Invite them only after Super Connectors are onboarded and relationship data is available. Early access with empty results usually hurts adoption.

#### What should Requesters include in an intro request?

Keep it short but specific. At minimum, include who they want to reach, why they want the introduction, and the outcome they want.

See [Customise Introduction Request Form](/super-connector-admin-guide/customise-introduction-request-form.md).

### CRM integrations

#### Does Boomerang work with Salesforce and HubSpot?

Yes. Boomerang supports both Salesforce and HubSpot as contact sources for relationship mapping.

#### What type of HubSpot list should I create?

Use Active Lists and include "Boomerang" in the list name. Add the required contact and company fields before importing.

See [HubSpot Integration Setup](/integrations/hubspot-integration-setup.md).

#### What type of Salesforce report should I create?

Use the **Contacts & Accounts** report type. Start with one clean report and validate the imported count before adding more.

See [Salesforce Integration Setup](/integrations/salesforce-integration-setup.md).

#### Why do my HubSpot lists not appear in Boomerang?

Usually one of three things is missing. The list is not an Active List, the name does not include "Boomerang", or the integration user does not have the right permissions.

#### Why do my Salesforce reports not appear in Boomerang?

The report usually uses the wrong report type or the integration is not fully connected. Check that the report is built from **Contacts & Accounts**.

#### What does **Enable Warm Relationship** do?

It tells Boomerang to use that category when building relationship graphs. Without it, imported contacts stay unused for warm intro discovery.

### Calendar integrations

#### Why should I connect calendars?

Calendar history is one of the strongest relationship signals in Boomerang. It helps the platform score who actually knows a prospect best.

#### How much meeting history does Boomerang use?

Boomerang analyzes roughly the last 24 to 36 months of meeting data, depending on the integration and available history.

#### Does Boomerang write to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?

No. The documented calendar permissions are read-only. Boomerang reads events, users, and groups but does not modify them.

#### Who should complete the calendar setup?

Use a Google Workspace Super Admin for Google Calendar. Use a Microsoft Entra ID Global Administrator for Outlook.

#### Should I track individuals or groups?

Use groups where possible. That keeps coverage current as people join or leave teams.

#### Which teams should I include first?

Start with customer-facing teams. Sales, business development, customer success, partnerships, and executives usually create the highest-value signals.

See [Google Calendar](/integrations/calendar-integrations/google-calendar.md) and [Outlook Calendar](/integrations/calendar-integrations/outlook-calendar.md).

### Salesforce embed

#### Can Boomerang appear inside Salesforce account records?

Yes. You can embed Warm Intros directly in Salesforce with a Visualforce page and a custom record tab.

#### Where should the Warm Intros tab sit in Salesforce?

Put it first in the tab order. That makes it visible by default and improves rep adoption.

#### What should I check before rolling out the Salesforce embed?

Test with a non-admin sales user. Confirm the tab is visible, loads correctly, and shows account-specific relationship data.

See [Configure iFrame in Salesforce](/integrations/salesforce-integration-setup/configure-iframe-in-salesforce.md).

### Troubleshooting

#### The imported contact count looks wrong. What should I check?

Review the source filters first. Then confirm the required fields are present and the selected list or report matches the audience you intended.

#### I connected an integration but still do not see data.

Refresh the page and confirm the connection shows as active. Then verify the source object, permissions, and naming requirements for the list or report.

#### What is the fastest way to get early adoption?

Brief Super Connectors before inviting them. Then pilot with a small group of Requesters after relationship paths are live.

#### Where should I go next?

Start with [Getting Set Up](/super-connector-admin-guide/getting-set-up.md) if you are still onboarding. Jump to the integration pages if you are actively connecting systems.
